Introduction

While sitting in your classroom one day, you look up at the Tennessee state flag on the wall. As you look a little closer you notice that it has three stars in the center of it, you know that the United States flag has fifty stars and they stand for each of the states, what do the stars on this flag stand for? You decide to read through the book about Tennessee in your classroom to find out and you learn that they stand for the three grand divisions of Tennessee. Hmm…you did not know that Tennessee had three divisions. You decide that to gather a couple of friends and find out more

Task

Today you are going to become a representative from one of the Grand Divisions of Tennessee, West, Middle or East. It will be your job to find out as much as you can about your division, create a poster about your division and give a short presentation about your division to the class. You must include on your poster and your report, the name of your division, name two cities in your division, the types of landforms and/or bodies of water in your division and things to do and places to go in your division. You will also have to include in your report what you think people do for a living in your division based on what you learn.

Process

1.    You will be assigned to a group of three students
