Each school has a First Responder Team. This is a team of school staff members trained in American Heart Association First Aid and CPR, all taught by the school nurses. The team members are also trained annually in the administration of an Epi-Pen for an anaphylactic allergic reaction or asthma attack. The First Responder Team leader is the school nurse. The team is trained to respond to an emergency, utilizing basic first aid and knowing when to call 911. Each school has a trauma box to use in case of an emergency and AED (automated external defibrillator), and each team member has a “jump bag” ready to use in case of a disaster.

Summer 2013 CPR and First Aid Classes

All classes are held at the Teacher Center adjacent to the RCBOE building.

CPR classes are from 9:00-11:00 on each of the dates below.

First Aid classes are from 12:00-2:30 on each of the dates below.
